Festive Family Willow Weaving

Come and learn all about willow weaving in this family-friendly festive workshop. We’ll be making some lovely willow Christmas decorations for you to take home; stars, trees and some sweet little reindeer! They are easy projects for little hands (or big hands!) to join in, ages 8+.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: The Barn Terrace, Windmill Hill City Farm.

Workshop lead by Florence Hamer. About Florence:

Flo is a traditional craftswoman specialising in basketry and green woodworking. All her work is linked with a love of working with wood, in traditional techniques, and the desire to keep these endangered skills alive. Flo teaches a range of courses in traditional crafts, as well as being a full time maker. Working in materials such as willow, hazel, ash and oak. Winner of best Contemporary Basket 2023 in the ‘Basketry of the Year’ competition held by the Basketmakers Association. And shortlisted maker in the ‘Bespoke Product Design’ category in the 2023 ‘Wood Awards’.
