What’s On This October at Windmill Hill City Farm

24th SEPTEMBER 2026

Something a little spooky is happening at Windmill Hill City Farm this October!

As the days get shorter and the leaves start to turn, October is a lovely time to visit the farm. Come and see the gardens change with the season, spot the animals enjoying the cooler weather, wander through the falling leaves and make the most of our 4.5 acres of green space in the heart of Bristol.

And the best bit? It’s free to visit the farm. We’re open 7 days a week, so you can pop in for a quick wander, spend a few hours exploring or make a day of it.

When you’re ready to warm up, head to the café for a hot drink, homemade cake or something seasonal to eat. Our menu changes with the seasons, with plenty of warming, veg-led dishes, soups, lunches and freshly made treats.

There’s also plenty happening throughout October, from creative workshops and yoga to our seasonal market and some spooky family fun.

October kicks off with the return of Windmill Hill Market.

Browse more than 40 stalls from local makers, designers and producers, with ceramics, prints, clothing, jewellery, homeware and plenty more to discover. There’ll also be street food, local drinks, live entertainment and the farm café to keep you fuelled as you wander. It’s the perfect excuse to spend a Saturday exploring the farm, picking up something handmade and enjoying the autumn atmosphere.

Get creative and make your very own gargoyle planter at this spooky-season workshop with Pottymouth Pottery. A fun chance to get your hands dirty and create something suitably ghoulish to take home.

Fancy a quieter creative session? Head along for Pottery Painting and spend some time getting creative with colour and design. A great autumn activity for anyone who enjoys making something with their hands.

As the evenings draw in, slow things down with an Evening Vinyasa Yoga session at the farm. A chance to move, stretch and take some time for yourself in a peaceful setting.

Discover the art of botanical cyanotype printing and use natural materials to create beautiful blue-and-white prints. A lovely way to combine creativity and nature, and a perfect fit for the changing season around the farm.

Come along to our Supper Club for a warm, home-cooked meal and a chance to eat together as a community. Our Supper Club is open to everyone, with food served in the café and activities for children. It’s a particularly good option as the nights get colder: good food, good company and no washing up at home.

Join us for the Climate Action Group on the 26th October. A chance to meet others, share ideas and get involved in conversations and action around climate and sustainability.

This spooky edition will include all your favourite ghouls and baddies, along with lots of comedy and audience participation for all to join in with! Together with music and silliness, the show will entertain all the family from one to one hundred.

Little artists can get creative with clay at Kids Clay Club: Halloween Monsters. Come along and make your own creepy creations, from monsters and ghouls to whatever else your imagination comes up with!

Round off the month with a visit to The Farm Tap Room. Grab a drink, catch up with friends and enjoy the farm as the evenings get darker. The Tap Room is run by Bruhaha and features drinks from local independent suppliers.
