An Urban Oasis for Everyone

GROWING TOGETHER

Everything we harvest travels ‘zero food miles’ before being used in our café. Our goal is to make the gardens at Windmill Hill City Farm productive, educational, inclusive, and sustainable.

A Space to Relax and Connect

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the calm of our community gardens — a green haven in the heart of the city. Whether you’d like to sit and take in the view or get involved in shaping the space, our gardens offer a peaceful yet purposeful retreat.

GROWING TOGETHER

Staff and volunteers work side by side, sharing skills and experiences as we care for the land and grow fresh produce. Everything we harvest travels ‘zero food miles’ before being used in our café. Our goal is to make the gardens at Windmill Hill City Farm beautiful, productive, educational, inclusive, and sustainable.

SEASONAL RYTHYMS

We follow organic principles throughout the year. Spring brings sowing and planting; summer means watering, weeding, and harvesting; autumn celebrates the fruits of our labour while preparing for the colder months; and in winter, we plan, prune, tidy — and keep warm with mugs of tea.

ABUNDANT RESOURCES

Our gardens include a greenhouse, polytunnel, ponds, an orchard, a nature garden, and over 20 vegetable beds. We grow a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, all cultivated with care for people and the planet.
