Last Saturday the 19th of September, Windmill Hill City Farm came together to celebrate a very special milestone: 50 years at the heart of our community. And what a celebration it was!
We welcomed around 1,700 visitors through the gates for a brilliant day of live music, family activities, creative workshops, local stalls, food, drinks and plenty of community spirit.
From the Garden Theatre to the volunteer gardens, there was something happening throughout the Farm. Visitors enjoyed performances from local musicians and choirs, traditional Fayre games, puppet shows, nature crafts, face painting, live art and plenty more. It was wonderful to see the Farm so full of people enjoying the space and celebrating everything that makes it special. But the day wasn't just about looking back at the last 50 years. It was also about helping to secure the Farm's future.
The 50th Anniversary Fayre was a huge milestone for the Farm, and we’d love to take what we’ve learned from the day into future events. Your feedback is really important in helping us understand what worked well, what you enjoyed and what we could do differently next time. We’re collecting feedback from everyone who came along so we can continue to improve our events and make them as enjoyable, accessible and welcoming as possible.
