Supported Volunteering

Interested in animal care or gardening?

Supported volunteering brings people together, helping them build connections, confidence, and resilience. Through meaningful activity, participants improve their wellbeing, learn practical gardening and food-growing skills, and gain a sense of pride and achievement by supporting a valued community space. Experienced mental health staff run the supported volunteering programme.

Therapeutic AnimalCare:
Participants help care for a range of farm and domestic animals including pigs, sheep, guinea pigs, chickens, goats, and rabbits. Activities include feeding, mucking out, collecting eggs and grooming.

Therapeutic Gardening:

Volunteers will help care for food-growing areas, harvesting produce for the cafe and farm shop, as well as developing and maintaining various parts of the garden for community use, including spaces for children and wildlife. They will also support the upkeep and improvement of garden areas for visitors to enjoy.
